Hello everyone. i have a question where i havent found an answer on yet and it goes as follows:
In diablo 2 items made use of prefixes and suffixes and they spawned on an item in turns. i have seen a video where diablo 3 "should" use the same system. But i havent found any affix list where they label an affix as a pre or a suffix. so my question was is it actually using the same system? or are the pre and suffix system "history". on diablo 3 i knew i wasnt able to choose 4 prefixes on 1 weap because it was not possible as far as i know. so i want to filter my choises the same way but i cant see what type the affixes are. So therefore how can i tell wich is wich? and if its not the same anymore does that mean you can get a combinition of any affix that can spawn on that item?

i must say the info on this site is amazing i have it open all the time when im playing d3. for me i find the system of listing the items lvl req and possible items far more organized then many other sites. keep it up.

To find out if an Affix is a prefix or suffix, you just need to look at its name. For example, if you look up "Dex 16 Secondary", you will see that the name is "of Pain" which tells you that it is a suffix.

Note that Rare (yellow) items will have multiple prefixes and suffixes. However, they have their own naming system (e.g., "Woe Gore") that does not show the normal Affix prefixes and suffixes.

I think those rules work for magic gear, but i have seen a rare with 5 prefixes and 0 suffixes
it were rare gloves having Phis resist, All Resist, Crit Damage, MF, Crit Chance

I've also noticed that Rare items can have all Prefixes or all Suffixes. So it looks like the game determines the number of Affixes (4-6 for Rares), and then randomly selects the Affix from the allowable pool. I don't think it per-determines whether it is a Prefix or Suffix; it just picks randomly from the pool.

Hi, i'm trying to count affixes at rare items but it's no so trivial.
Now we don't know how exactly works affix/prefix/suffix system.

For example, if archon crown rolled with such stats:
47 dex
27 int
52 fire res
252 hp regen
11% control croud

Can we somehow determinate is it 4 affixes or maybe 5?
I mean it could be two affixes for dex and int or just one dex/int.
